You Are Your Own Greatest Guide

When you start to trust that, your energy changes. Your life changes. You connect with the higher part of yourself and begin to build the muscle of inner knowing.
When you start to trust that, your energy changes. Your life changes. You connect with the higher part of yourself and begin to build the muscle of inner knowing.

My teacher Robert, the creator of Spiritual Response Therapy, used to say something about the word “guru” that has always stayed with me.

He would break it down like this:

G-U-R-U… “Gee, You Are You.”

I’ve always loved that.

It’s such an important message, especially these days.

And although there are people in the world with great wisdom, beautiful insights, and teachings worth hearing… no one, and I mean no one, knows more about you than your own guidance system.

When you start to trust that, your energy changes. Your life changes. You connect with the higher part of yourself and begin to build the muscle of inner knowing.

And the best part? You don’t have to be at a certain “level” to access this.

Just look at young children, especially the really little ones. They are deeply guided. They know what they need, what feels good, what’s too much, even when it’s inconvenient for the adults around them.

We haven’t lost that inner compass. We’ve just buried it under the pressure to be acceptable, agreeable, and/or safe.

So what if we started peeling that back?

What if we began, little by little, to trust ourselves again?

And sometimes, yes, that inner guidance gets clouded, by past wounds, old patterns, fear, or survival strategies we didn’t choose.

That’s where healing work comes in.

Clearing blocks, trauma, and inherited beliefs isn’t about becoming someone else, it’s about coming home to who you’ve always been.

The more we release, the more clearly we hear. The more we heal, the more we trust. And from that place, everything shifts.

Here are a few simple ways to begin following your own guidance:

  • Pay attention to your body’s feedback. It’s a constant messenger.

  • Take the time to check in with yourself. Pause before reacting. Ask, “What’s true for me here?”

  • Be in stillness, even for a few moments. Guidance speaks loudest in quiet spaces.

  • Say no when your body contracts. Even if your mind is still convincing you to say yes.

  • Journal without editing. Let your inner truth flow onto the page, raw and unfiltered.

  • Notice what lights you up,  and what drains you. That’s guidance, too.

  • Let your healing be personal, not performative. It’s not about getting it “right.” It’s about getting free.

Inside The New Paradigm Collective, we hold space for this kind of reconnection.

We clear what clouds the path, tune into our inner wisdom, and heal as a community, without hierarchy, pressure, or perfectionism.

If this resonates, the door is open.

You already have the answers...you just don’t have to remember them alone.

With love,

Valerie
